Winter hiking in South Tyrol
Fascinating and exciting
Winter hiking in South Tyrol has its very own charm. The almost untouched snowy landscapes, which are crossed by nothing more than the odd animal trail or footsteps of people who have gone before you, radiate a magical silence. You put one foot in front of the other, feel the fresh air in your lungs and a fantastic view over snow-covered peaks opens up before you. It is precisely this feeling, this serenity, the closeness to nature and over 30 kilometres of snow-covered paths makes winter hiking in South Tyrol so special.
The Sciliar/Schlern region provides plenty of opportunities for setting off on winter hikes. You can either walk along walking paths and explore together with your family or combine your winter hike with a fun toboggan run. Or how about strapping snowshoes (also on guided hikes) onto your feet and walking across glittering fields of snow with a professional guide? Anyone who is at higher altitudes should not ignore the risk of avalanches and should only set off on a tour after an avalanche course and with a trained guide.
